Sheriff's Office: Wapato man identified in deadly shooting

WAPATO, Wash. - Sheriff's deputies say a 27-year-old Wapato man bled to death in a shooting Friday.

Reports from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) said William Gardipee died at the scene and another man from Wapato was injured in a shooting at the Les Schwab in Wapato.

Medics took the injured man, 25-year-old Eric D. Martin, to Virginia Mason Memorial in Yakima then later to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is being treated.

Gardipee died from a gunshot wound in the stomach, according to an autopsy, conducted Febraury 5, from the Yakima County Coroner's Office.

Sheriff's detectives are searching for suspects related to the shooting as reports said multiple people were believed to be involved.
