Construction begins to extend road to SR 24, repave Selah Creek Bridge
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - Crews are working to extend Duffield Road to State Route 24 in Moxee.
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said Duffield Road will connect to SR 24 from Morrier Lane. A T-intersection with a left turn lane will be constructed in the project.
Travelers can anticipate traffic delays between Birchfield Road and Beaudry Road. Construction crews will place cones and barrels in the area.
Work begins Sept. 5 and will take place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The highway portion of this project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2017 according to WSDOT leaders.
Crews will also begin repairs and repaving Sept. 6 for the Selah Creek Bridge deck on eastbound I-82.
WSDOT said eastbound drivers are likely to experience delays near the Selah Creek Rest Area across the bridge.
Officials said the rest area will stay open through construction, which is expected to last nearly a month.
