City council to decide whether canceling annual meeting was mistake

YAKIMA, Wash. -- KIMA reported just a couple of weeks ago, there was controversy over an annual meeting that Yakima decided to cancel this year.

Now, city council will decide Tuesday whether it made a mistake.

The city holds a Comprehensive Plan Amendment Meeting every year. It's when development plans are submitted to council for approval.

The amendments typically change zoning to allow for a new type of construction.

The city canceled it this year because it said it was too busy with other projects.

That didn't sit too well with some folks. Now, council will vote Tuesday night to possibly re-open the process again.
