YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash.-- A Yakima County jury will continue deliberating tomorrow in the case against Travis Padgett. Lawyers from both sides delivered closing arguments. Padgett is accused of raping and giving meth to minors. Police arrested him in January after one of the kids reported the activity to a school resource officer. The state begged the jury to consider the evidence and convict him.
"We ask a lot of jurors, the work that you will do, but we ask you with respect ladies and gentlemen, we ask you to hold this man accountable for his conduct and to find him guilty," supervising deputy prosecuting attorney Patti Powers said to the jury.
The jury is considering 14 different charges against Padgett.
