SWEET HOME, Ore. - A teen hit by a boat's propeller at Foster Lake on Monday was in fair condition Tuesday after medics rushed him by air ambulance to Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, the Linn County Sheriff said.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. The 14-year-old Sweet Home boy was in the air en route to Portland around 3 p.m., the sheriff said.
The boy was riding a ski tube towed behind a boat piloted by his 37-year-old mother when he fell off into the lake.
As his mother came back to pick him up, the boat's propeller hit the teen, cutting his back.
The incident remains under investigation.
