Big rig carrying apples crashes near Toppenish

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Everyone is OK after a big rig carrying apples rolled near Toppenish Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened just before 12:30 near the intersection of U.S. 97 and Rocky Ford Road. Washington State Patrol says the truck was traveling south on Highway 97 when it drifted off the roadway and rolled over.

The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old Oregon man, was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but troopers say he was alert and seemed fine. No one else was hurt in the crash.
