BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - An Amber Alert issued over the weekend has been canceled for a 5-year-old girl from Idaho Falls.
The Idaho Falls Police Department says Aaliyah Alynn Esqueda was taken by her non-custodial father's parents, Irene and Salvador Esqueda on Sept. 3. On Monday, officials with Amber Alert canceled its local connection because officials believe the little girl is no longer in Idaho.
The girl's maternal grandparents have legal guardianship of her but allow visitation with her father's parents.
Police say Aaliyah was scheduled to be returned to her maternal grandparents Sunday, but police believe the paternal grandparents are taking her to her father in Mexico.
They believe the three boarded a bus in Idaho Falls on September 5 around 11 p.m. headed south to Mexico.
Police describe Irene as being 71-years-old, with brown hair, about 5' 4" tall, and weighing 178 lbs.
Salvador is described as being 74-year-old, with brown hair, 5' 5" tall, and weighing 160 lbs.
If you have any information, please call Idaho Falls Police at 208-529-1200 or call 911.
