Alzheimer's Association plans support groups for Spanish speakers

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Alzheimer's Association of Western & Central Washington has announced it will begin offering monthly support groups in Yakima and Grandview for Spanish-speaking caregivers of those with dementia. The meetings will begin in May.

The support groups will provide caregivers with information on coping with challenging behaviors, communication techniques and available services.

The public can learn more about the support groups at two informational seminars Apr. 2. These meetings will be held:

From 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center, at 1211 S. 7th St. in Yakima.

From 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northwest Communities' Education Center, at 121 Sunnyside Ave. in Granger.
