ELLENSBURG, Wash.-- Some changes might be coming to the Ellensburg School District in the fall. Kindergarten classes might be going back to a full day schedule. In 2010, budget cuts caused kindergarten classes to be shortened and kids only went for half days. The brainstorming began in a meeting last week with school board members. Some parents in Ellensburg want a choice.
"We're kind of up in the air about whether parents should be forced to do half day or full day kindergarten," said William Allenbaugh, a dad of 2 in Ellensburg.
It would cost more than $250,000 to implement the new system.
