Action steps to be developed in Downtown Master Plan

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima City Council will focus on what next steps to take in the Downtown Master Plan. A study session will be held Monday.

Council members will be presented a focused discussion on the main project and retail plan. Several issues need to be addressed at the meeting. Some include possibly turning Yakima Avenue traffic with one lane in each direction. Another is looking at changes for parking spots. Some said they want to keep the parking lot near Millennium Plaza.

"It's kind of hard to picture it all and how often they would have concerts here and then you have to think about where you would really have to park," said Sandra Ricking.

A public hearing on this discussion will be held November 5th.
