Act Yakima to host Yakima Pride March downtown

YAKIMA, Wash. - Folks in Yakima will celebrate the LGBTQ community with a pride march.

The Yakima Pride March will kick off at Performance Park at noon Saturday, June 17 according to an Act Yakima news release.

Participants will begin marching at 12:30 p.m. through downtown Yakima. The marchers will then gather at Performance Park to hear several LGBTQ speakers.

"It is about accepting the diversity of our community and that we find strength in that diversity," said pastor of Rainbow Cathedral Church Bill Poores.

The march is hosted and sponsored by the Rainbow Cathedral Church Yakima, Act Yakima, Planned Parenthood, One America, UUCY and Pride Foundation.
