3rd annual 'Dozer Day' event kicks off at Yakima fairgrounds
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The 3rd annual 'Dozer Day' event kicked off at Yakima's fairgrounds Saturday.
The family-friendly event lets kids get behind the wheel of dozers, excavators, cranes, and more. Kids climbed giant tires and drove dump trucks and other machinery with the help of an adult and trained operator.
Families also learned about safety, industry opportunities, and building sustainable communities.
"I like the fire trucks, I really like them," said 11-year-old Jose Martinez. "And I enjoyed riding all of the tractors because you could almost do anything and you could dig."
Dozer Day is hosted by the Central Washington Home Builders Association (CWHBA). It goes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and open again Sunday, March 19.
Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for children and seniors the day of the event. There is a $3 discount if purchased online in advance.
