30+ teens cited for alcohol at West Valley party

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- More than 30 teenagers have been cited for alcohol-related offenses after an early morning party over the weekend in West Valley.

Yakima County sheriff's deputies responded around 2:15 a.m. to the 10500 block of Tieton Drive. When they arrived at the house, the deputies saw some of the teens flee on foot, while about 50 stayed inside the house and locked the doors.

Authorities obtained a search warrant and forced their way into the house. In addition to the alcohol citations, deputies say one of the teens had an illegal handgun.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says the homeowner's teenage daughter planned the party while the owner was out of town.

YCSO says the party heavily damaged the inside of the house and estimates the total loss at $8,000.
