2012 Pink Heals tour comes to Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Fire trucks of a different color made their way here to Yakima. They are pink fire trucks with firefighters dressed in pink all part as the Pink Heals tour. It's the first time the group has ever stopped here to raise awareness and money for women with cancer. Proceeds from items sold today will be donated to Memorial Hospital's Women's Health Fund.

A five year cancer survivor drove from Richland to be part of the event.

"Means a lot because these men give up their time without pay to go around raising money to help people who are less fortunate in breast cancer that can't pay their bills. So that's a wonderful wonderful thing," said Karma Yourdan.

The pink trucks are named after women who've left a lasting impression on their communities. Each fire engine has hundreds of handwritten personal messages.
