2 injured in car accident, man faces DUI

MABTON, Wash. -- Two people were injured and transported to Prosser Memorial Hospital after a Sunday evening car crash at the intersection of Miller and Stettner Roads.

According to Washington State Patrol, a 1995 Ford Contour driven by Ignacio Alamazan, 26, of Mabton, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Ford pickup.

Geovanny Vargas, 20, also of Mabton, was driving the pickup, wearing a seatbelt, and was not injured in the crash.

In addition to the injuries suffered by Alamazan, one of her passengers was also hurt in the crash.

Alamazan has been charged with DUI.
