13-year-old stabs another teen in church parking lot fight
YAKIMA, Wash. - A 13-year-old girl has been arrested after police said she stabbed another teen with an unidentified sharp object.
Police spokesperson Mike Bastinelli said a 14-year-old girl was hurt after she and the 13-year-old arranged to fight over social media at the parking lot located at 3902 Summitview Avenue in Yakima around 11 p.m., Wednesday.
The two began to physically fight while friends watched.
Police said the victim received scratches after the 13-year-old attacked her with a sharp object. It is unclear at this time if the attacker brought the object with her or if it was found in the parking lot.
The victim's sister, who was witnessing the fight, then stepped in and was also stabbed in the area of her hand and wrist.
The siblings were taken to a local hospital and have since been released, according to reports.
Police arrested the 13-year-old. Authorities say she could face two counts of secondary assault.
