Man and woman facing charges after stealing car and evading police

YAKIMA, Wash. - A man and woman are facing multiple charges after being arrested for stealing a car and trying to escape police.

Court documents say Adolf Garza stole a car at gunpoint, hit another vehicle while trying to escape police and then was found with a firearm when he was arrested.

Police documents said Garza was going over 100 miles per hour during the chase and hit a car that was trying to make a left at the intersection of Highway 97 and Lateral A.

Documents say after the car was spiked, Garza got out of the car and started running. Once he was stopped by police he took a gun out and threw it on the ground.

Garza is facing charges of first degree robbery, vehicular assault, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The documents say Savannah George was with Garza in the car.

She's facing first degree robbery charges as an accomplice.
